Finding Hope on the Spectrum
Autism Empowerment Academy

Effective date 10/06/26

About this policy

Autism Empowerment Academy is operated by Finding Hope on the Spectrum, referred to as “we,” “us,” or “our.” This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and retain personal information through the Academy enrollment, educational programs, community spaces, and related communications. It also explains how to contact us about your information. This policy describes our practices; it does not replace any separate consent required by law.

1 Information we collect

We collect information you provide, including your name, email address, telephone number, billing details, enrollment selections, correspondence, and account information. If you participate in the Academy, we may receive intake responses, goals, reflections, community posts, and educational examples you choose to submit.

You may choose to share information about a child, student, client, or family member, including strengths, challenges, disability or diagnosis information, relationships, education, and daily participation. These details can be sensitive. Share only what is reasonably necessary and what you have authority to share. Use de-identified examples whenever possible, especially in professional settings. Do not submit complete medical, school, or client records unless we have specifically arranged an authorized method.

2 Payments and service providers

Payments are processed by Stripe. [CONFIRM WHAT PAYMENT DATA YOU RECEIVE, SUCH AS TRANSACTION STATUS, BILLING ADDRESS, AND LAST FOUR CARD DIGITS.] The processor handles payment details under its own terms and privacy policy.

We use Kajabi to deliver and administer our services. We share information with this platform as reasonably necessary for their work on our behalf, subject to appropriate contractual and legal requirements. Their independent collection and use may also be described in their privacy policies.

3 How we use information

We use information to respond to inquiries; process enrollment and payments; deliver educational content, coaching, and community access; communicate about sessions and accounts; provide requested accessibility support; administer and improve services; protect accounts and investigate misuse; maintain required records; and comply with legal obligations.

We may send marketing emails about our programs and resources where permitted by law and consistent with your preferences. Where consent is required, we obtain it separately. Sensitive participant information is used for the educational purpose for which it was provided and other purposes only as lawfully authorized.

4 Group participation and recordings

Information you share during group calls or in community spaces may be visible to other enrolled participants, facilitators, and authorized staff. Participants are required to respect confidentiality, but we cannot guarantee that every participant will comply. Avoid sharing details you are uncomfortable disclosing in a group.

If we record a session, we provide notice and obtain any consent required by law. Recordings may include names, voices, images, chat messages, and personal examples. Authorized replay access and retention follow the Enrollment and Participation Agreement and the schedule described below. You may keep your camera off, use an approved display name, or avoid sensitive disclosures as provided in that Agreement. Public or promotional use of identifiable participant information requires separate, optional authorization.

Participants may not record, screenshot, or use an AI meeting assistant or transcription tool without prior written permission and any required consent.

5 When we disclose information

We may disclose information to the service providers described above; to authorized staff and facilitators who need it to deliver services; at your direction or with appropriate authorization; to comply with law or valid legal process; to protect legal rights and address fraud or safety concerns; and in a merger, sale, or reorganization subject to applicable privacy requirements. Information shared within the group is described in Section 4. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

6 Retention and security

We retain information for the purposes described in this policy, including service delivery, accounting, dispute resolution, and legal compliance. Program access ending does not necessarily mean all records are immediately deleted.

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the information we handle. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. Please avoid sending unnecessary sensitive information through ordinary email or public forms. If a security incident occurs, we will provide notices as required by applicable law.

7 Your choices and privacy requests

You may unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in a message. We may still send necessary account and program communications. You may ask us about your information, request corrections or deletion, or withdraw a previously given consent by contacting us below. Withdrawal applies going forward and does not undo lawful prior processing; it may affect services that require that information.

Depending on your location and whether applicable laws cover our processing, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of personal information; opt out of certain sale, advertising, or profiling activities; and appeal a denied request. We will verify requests as reasonably necessary, respond within applicable legal deadlines, and explain any lawful limitation. To appeal a denial where that right applies, email us with “Privacy Appeal” in the subject line. Authorized agents may submit requests with documentation of their authority where permitted. We will not retaliate for exercising applicable privacy rights.

9 Other websites and international processing

Links to guest resources, social media, and other websites are provided for convenience. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies. Information may be processed in the United States. Where legally required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.

11 Changes and contact information

We may update this policy to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. We will update the effective date and provide additional notice or obtain consent where required.
